Shaper/Caper are currently exploring ideas for a new show called ‘The World is My…’ exploring the climate emergency in a show for children aged 8-12 and their families.
Thanks to funding from Creative Scotland and Aberdeen City Council Creative Learning, we spent 4 weeks researching and developing ideas for a new show along with the children from 2 primary schools in Aberdeen. We hope to continue to develop the show into a full production in 2025 and we’d love to hear from any organisations that would be keen to partner with us on this project.
Here is what one of the teachers we worked with on the project had to say about the show:
‘Shaper/Caper’s latest production takes a refreshingly innovative approach to environmentalism, using the power of modern dance to educate young pupils ...through expressive choreography, our pupils embody the transformation of sea creatures, pirates stranded on a deserted island and future explorers that save the world from pollution... Shaper/Caper deserves high praise for this innovative project. They've not only nurtured the artistic talents of our pupils, but also planted a seed of environmental awareness that will undoubtedly blossom. The storytelling and books used throughout this project were well thought out and we will definitely use them again for future planning in the classroom’ (teacher).
