PowWow is a free project for young people aged between 10 and 24 to come together to explore new artistic approaches to communication and self-expression, such as digital and physical theatre skills.
Led by Shaper/Caper’s Artistic Director, Thomas Small, and Director of Operations, Yolanda Aguilar, we are working with artists and creators from Dundee’s creative community to introduce young people to interactive technology both old and new.
From Space Invaders to sound design, young people will work with us to explore how movement can act as a trigger for a range of digital interactions, and we will look at projection mapping, bringing inanimate objects to life.
Amazingly, this project is completely FREE thanks to funding from CashBack for Creativity and YouthLink Scotland.
The project takes place in Dundee with our partners at The Factory Skatepark, Braeview Academy and Douglas Community Centre. Sessions take place on a weekly basis in each of the three locations. Participants don't need to have any experience in movement or digital arts to take part.
So, come along, meet some new friends and play with some exciting technology to make a performance like you’ve never seen before!
