Discover the queer histories and connections of objects in V&A Dundee’s Scottish Design Galleries
About this event
A representative of V&A Dundee’s LGBTQIA+ group will be joined by curator Meredith More to discuss their developing project designed to uncover stories of LGBTQIA+ lives in the Scottish Design Galleries.
Hear about the fascinating queer histories and connections discovered through their objects, from subversive fashion to suffragette banners to Ray Petri’s styling for The Face magazine. Together they will also explore inspirational examples of practice from other organisations, reflect on why uncovering and sharing queer stories is important for us to do, and share starting points for making change.
This event will be BSL interpreted by Bruce Cameron and Nicolle Murdoch.
