Thank you
As an independently led organisation, we rely on the kindness and generosity of funders like you to make our projects happen. There are always lots of ways that you can help us make a difference.
Here are some of our projects that would really benefit from your support.
The World is My…
We're developing a new show for children that explores the climate crisis through human impact and inspires positive action. Through the loveable characters of Nico and Grandad, The World is My... encourages children and young people to ask questions, tackle challenges and think independently.
Here's a short excerpt of the show as a work in progress, commissioned by the Tayside Climate Beacon network:
Small Town Boys
Small Town Boys is an interactive experience that explores the 80's AIDS crisis through dance and spoken word. With the story set and performed in nightclubs, audiences will be welcomed to step onto the dance floor and get involved in the action. Small Town Boys beautifully blends lively action and tender vignettes that breathe life back into memories of the time.
Here is a segment of our digital work-in-progress sharing as part of our residency at Citymoves, Aberdeen:
Dance for Parkinson’s
We host a weekly class designed especially for those living with Parkinson’s and their families and carers, as part the Dance for Parkinson’s Scotland programme - a joint initiative originally established by Dance Base and Scottish Ballet, Scotland's National Dance Company, delivered in partnership with Parkinson's UK.
Taking place in-person in Dundee and digitally via Zoom, these classes develop participant’s confidence and creativity, whilst addressing Parkinson’s specific concerns such as balance, flexibility, coordination, gait and social isolation.
Here is what some of our participants had to say about our classes:
The Body
Each year, a new group of young people aged between16 and 30 have the opportunity to work with us to ensure that our projects are fresh, interesting and representative of young people. In return, we offer them free classes, talks and masterclasses, mentoring, opportunities to perform in our shows and free training in everything from digital skills to CV writing.
Being a member of The Body helps young people develop communication, teamwork and organisational skills, as well as giving them the chance to gain confidence, meet new people and build their networks. We hope that members of The Body will become powerful advocates in their local communities.
Here’s The Body alumnus Hannah explaining how she benefitted from the programme.
